Well new years resolutions

So much for one of my resolutions, keep up with my blog at least on a week or bi-weekly basis. But here is my stumbling block, resolution. I am going a different route. I am going to have goals each month that I am going to achieve that way at the end of the year I'm not sitting there waiting for the ball to drop and thinking about all these amazing resolutions I crapped out on. So for the month of January I have put up 4goals. 1. Make 10 eyeglass cases in 10 colors. 2. Make 10 reversible project bags. 3. Make 3 new patterns and get them printed out and ready to be sold. 4. Get 3 more followers on my facebook fan page. If you want to be apart of my last goal for the month look me up on facebook, KnittedWaveStudio. Well I will update at the end of the week to see what I have accomplished.

Whoooray for finished blankets!

It's finished the log cabin blanket was blocked and packed up in the wee hours of the morning and dropped it off at the post office. Thank goodness it's over. Don't get me wrong I loved making it for my friend. I learned a new technique and refined my design process by making it. I have taken away from this that I a) respect the heck out of women who make these afghans all the time and b) I won't ever make a blanket larger than a baby blanket or a lapghan. It just takes up so much time that you are running off of love and not money, which is totally awesome when your doing it for the love of it but its not a practical thing for me to do again. So having said that I went through blanket detox by working on a simple striped scarf and a beaded handle for a beautiful bag and hat combo that is a class over at the Knit N Knibble. If you're in the Tampa area check it out. Once my detox is over I will begin work on moebius neckwarmers and Dr. Who Scarves. They will be on sale in my shop in the coming weeks. I will post my progress of those on here. ciao

The 4 Hats Project and Giant Wooden Cranes

Well here is hat number one of the 4 hats project. All hats are going to be earflaps. One shades of pink, one purple, and two black and pink. I want to put these up in my shop for the holidays, but I have one issue...time. If I could stop or manipulate time but continue to knit I would be set.
On another note I have to make a giant wooden crane a scarf for a school holiday festival. I will be winging it on that one because I have no idea how big the crane is. I love to fly by the seat of my pants...okay enough puns. Here's the hat, I can't think of much more to write about right now, the unnatural cold that blew in a few days ago has caused icicles on my brain, impeding my thought process for writing. Hopefully it will warm up or my vegetable garden will die.

The Irineo Project plus the Mini Lantern Tote

For my dear friend I agreed to make some special knitted gifts for some special people in his life(I'm being elusive for obvious reasons). I picked patterns or made up patterns based on techniques I wanted to learn or challenge myself to perfect. I ended up with three awesome projects one is a spliced and manipulated pattern-the kitty hat, one made up by me after watching the basic technique of how to start-the true moebius cowl, and the other I made up while making it...also my first time attempting- flip top mittens. I'm proud of what I made, it got my creative craftster juices flowing and I have alot of cute ideas I'm making into patterns for the winter season.
On a side note I have crossed the point of no return as a knitter, well I think I jumped past that when I started knitting. I made a modified version of the bubble tote which I call my mini lantern tote and it fits a small project and ball of yarn nicely. It started out carrying my projects to and from work, then hooked on the back of my chair while I was working on the computer and waiting for stuff to load. Well I caught myself walking around the house with my mini tote on my arm knitting while doing other things. I think I have an addiction...and I'm loving it!!! Talk about finding the desires of your heart! Well here's the pictures of the projects!

Projects Update

So I have made progress on the log cabin blanket! Not as much as I would like but thats because I have been busy with orders coming in and working at my LYS. So its still good. I have some fun things I am working on for myself, the Que Sera cardigan from Knitty.com. Nonetheless I have hit my knitting threshold for the night and I need to sleep or I won't be able to function tomorrow and by function I mean knit my fingers off.

New Project: Knitted Log Cabin Blanket

I absolutely love this pattern! once you get the first square on this finished you just pick up stitches when you change colors! I love that this is a traditional quilt pattern that I have made before but I'm knitting it in some awesome American Primitive colors! Excited! I'll post my progress as I go. Here's my first picture of working on it.
